  2. Apart from their drab vestments, I don't think that an abbot emeritus is supposed to wear a pectoral cross, is he?

  3. Monachus, It is the rare bishop today who DOESN'T wear his pectoral cross over the chasuable. Does this not reflect the episcopate telling Rome what they can do with the GIRM and other liturgical regulations? Are we to see further signs of revolt coming from the bishops?

  4. Yes, the Birmingham concelebration vestments are poor, but the Archbishop (who doesn't wear his pectoral cross ouside the chasuble) celebrates an extremely dignified liturgy, as do his auxilliaries, and I believe the abbot.

    Surely they can have a moment of levity outside the Mass?
